Following initial assessment A stated that she would like support to be a mixture of meeting in the home and community. A was happy to talk about her relationship with Dad and how his drinking impacts on her.
A states that she gets upset when Dad telephones to talk to them after he has been drinking. A was happy to complete the Toolkit workbook and while working through this on a weekly basis, A’s contact continued with Dad. Families First continued to support Mam & Dad with regard to developing a safety plan for A and her siblings to have unsupervised contact which started once a week for an hour after school. Recently this has increased to 2 hours and this is going well. A states that she enjoys the time spent with Dad and that there are no issues when she is with him. By the end of the sessions, A was talking positively about her relationship with Dad and stated that she ‘doesn’t worry anymore’ and is looking forward having sleepovers at Dad’s house soon.
