Taster Session -14thof August 2024 @ Bedwelty Park, Tredegar.
GDAFS enjoyed a successful day at Bedwelty Park, hosting a taster session for Young Concerned Others Group (YCOG).
Activities included:
- Protecting an egg to explore the concept of safe spaces.
- Tasting different types of food while engaging their five senses, promoting mindfulness and grounding.
- Free play, where some chose to play football while others socialized and explored the park.
The session was facilitated by GDAFS team members, reinforcing the message that these young individuals ‘You are not alone’.
The GDAFS team look forward to welcoming more Concerned Others to the YCOG for more successful sessions. The YCOG will be launching in September (dates TBC). Young people will be introduced to coping skills, tools, and techniques related to being a Concerned Other in a supportive and safe environment.
